Wow it has been a long time since I last posted but I have big news for today! My baby hit 1000 miles yesterday evening! Here are the pictures:

Oildorado 2005

Every 5 years my town has a celebration called "Oildorado." It is to celebrate the oil that was found here years ago and to this day funds our small town. Well today was the Taft CA Oildorado Parade and the "Scoot or Die Gang" ran security and were an entry in the parade.

Here is a picture of my scooter with my "Parade Security" Sign taped on it!!! We rode up and down the parade route and made sure people were out of the way for the start of the parade!

We all had matching shirts made! Here is Pam modeling for the camera!

After our security duties we all waited in a near by business' parking lot for our turn on the route!

Sito, kinda a plus!

Okay, so I got the cone cut out of my Sito and now my bike runs great. Now all I have to do is get the new jets I need, but I still don't know how to check the carb for the jets sizes. I don't even know what the carb looks like. I am in trouble!!!

Well I finally got my Sito + exhaust installed, but now I am not very happy. Now my bike won't get above 30mph. I think I need to do a few more things (like cut out the cone in the end) and now I am sure I need to upjet. I'm not sure when I will be able to get new jets so I am just a little bummed right now.

My seat cover came today. So of course I had to give the scooters baths!

I am soooo happy with how my seat cover looks! Crystal did a wonderful job. I think everyone should go to her site and buy a wonderful seat cover!!!

Variator Shmariator

I thought I had a restricted ET2 but if I did I would have had a small spacer between the pulley and variator on my scooter. Well, I took it apart today...AND NO SPACER!!! I really don't understand. My owner's manual says "25mph LTD", there is an "A" in my Vin and I can only get up to about 37mph (all of the signs of a restricted bike). I really don't know what I am going to do now. Probably spend lots of money on a 70cc kit, a Sito+ Pipe, a 17.5 Carb, and 6.5 variator weights. :(

My Newest Scooter Friendly Accessory

A few months ago while I was at Costco I picked up a Camelbak type of backpack. Well I put it in my closet and I just remembered I had it yesterday. I went riding around last night and it was great!!! Here is a picture of Rocky modeling:

Rocky proved to be a wonderful model since it is hard to take a picture of yourself in a backpack! He was so proud he pranced around like a kid going to school for the first time, so funny!

This particular model of pack is made for bike riders so there is a cool net to carry a helmet and all kinds of room to cart stuff along with you. The brand of bag I got is High Sierra, it is not available on Costco.com but they may still carry them in the store. Here is a link to some on www.ebags.com.

Crystal Waters AKA creator of Girl bike and all of the wonderful seat covers at Scooter Seat Covers AND one of the great ladies that blogs for Vespa on Vespa Quest used my blog in one of her blog entry. How exciting! Crystal made a check list of things that new (and not so new) scooter riders do and of course making a blog was on the list! My little sister just got married in Los Vegas on Wednesday and I just got home. While we were there my mom and I were on the constant look out for scooters. We saw tons!!! There were even places were you could rent a scooter to ride around on the strip! We really wished we had had our scooters traffic was crazy and parking was a nightmare....We will have to remember that for next time!

Super Cool Decals

I got some decals in the mail today from Street Glo today and I put one on my top-case!!!

Decals For My Scoot

I have really trying to find reasonably priced decals for my scooter and I came across this great websiteStreetglo Motorcycle Decals . The reason that I REALLY like these is because they are made out of a reflective material, so they are not only cool decals they are a safety device!!! I think it is a great idea to make cool decals that help others see you at night, especially on my little Vespa!!!

My First Day With My ET2

Here is a picture of my new (well new to me) 2002 Vespa ET2. I had to kick start the bike but I still rode it up to a local eatery.
We had so much fun at Ollie's (a 50's style drive-in). They were having the very first "50's Nite." Of course the "Scoot or Die Gang" had to show up!
There were 11 of us there with our scooters (most have Honda metropolitans, but my Mom and I have Vespas). Cindy Patterson, the lady that started the scooter craze in town, had some personalized license plate covers made for us!

The best part of the night was when these three tough looking Harley riders came over and asked if they could sit on our scooters for a photo!!!

We said "sure, as long as we get to sit on your bike!"

We all had so much fun! After we ate we all rode off into the sunset honking out little horns the whole way!
